Some brief notes on Cisco’s 3750X series switches–

IP Base (layer 3) switch models  support power stacking, the ability for a switch to receive power from a neighbour if the direct power source fails.  Up to four switches can be added in a single power stack.  The switch by default comes with a single PSU that slots into the back of the chassis, a secondary power supply can be purchased if required, however if stack power is being used it offers minor advantage.   RPS are supported on all models.  PoE models can provide up to a full 30watts on all ports using PoE+.

Switch Performance

Switch fabric performance is 160Gbit/sec, stacking performance is 64Gbit/sec using the provided stackwise plus cables.

The 3750X series have an optional network module that can can provide the following upgrade options, note that by default there is no network module installed.  This must be ordered as a separate part.

Network Module SFP/SFP+ configuration options:

2x 10Gbit/sec SFP+
